Andre Avelino, a native of Brazil, earned his B.Sc. in Economics from the University of São Paulo and is currently a PhD Student in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Specialized in Regional Economics and Input-Output Analysis, his research focus on the spatio-temporal multilevel dynamics of unexpected events for recovery optimization. Coupling complex systems and economic tools, he expects to enhance current methodologies by addressing emergent patterns and self-adaptation of economic-social-infrastructural systems.
